Higher octane is not going to help on a non turbo charged engine unless it is a high compression engine and it requires the higher octane fuel. If the car calls for 87 octane and you put in 93 octane it may actually run worse with less power because it is burning cooler when you don't need it to. So many people believe that higher octane means more power better running (because advertisements imply that), however that simply is not true. On the TT engine higher octane fuel is required to avoid detonation. On an non turbo charged engine the only reason to use higher octane is if you have modified the engine and it has a higher compression ratio. Higher compression = more power, higher octane + no detonation @ higher compression (or boost in a TT).
If anything put some additive that cleans the fuel system if your looking to run cleaner.
